London: Hammer Film Productions, 1965. Shooting script for the 1966 film. Copy belonging to producer Anthony Nelson Key, with his extensive annotations in manuscript pencil and ink throughout, and his name on three color revision pages. Hammer's third Dracula film and the second to feature Christopher Lee in the role, following "Horror of Dracula" (1958) and "The Brides of Dracula" (1960). Lee had claimed the film's written dialogue was terrible, leading him to choose to play the role silently. However, screenwriter Jimmy Sangster claimed he intentionally wrote no dialogue for Dracula in the film, and indeed, in the producer's shooting script found here, Dracula has no dialogue-only stage directions. Set in 1895 at the fictional Castle Karlsbad in the Carpathian Mountains, shot on location in Buckinghamshire and Berkshire, England. Burgundy untitled wrappers with a die-cut window in the British style. Title page present, dated 4th March, 1965, with credits for screenwriter John Sansom. 124… Read More
