With several full-color illustrations of Roman warriors and women, and black-and-white films stills and on-the-set images. Based on the powerful and influential wife of the Roman Emperor Claudius, who conspired to kill him and was executed as a result. The classic adulterous figure has been portrayed in film since the Silent era, and actress Felix, a prolific and popular Mexican celebrity, marked the third appearance of Messalina on screen. A healthy credit for director Carmine, whose 100-plus films leave a considerable impression in early Italian cinema. 9.25 x 12 inches, saddle-stapled color illustrated wrappers, 12 leaves. Inspired by the real life story of Julia Pastrana, who suffered from a condition that caused excessive hairiness, and was exhibited in a freak show and mummified after her death by her husband/manager. Set in ancient Rome, the poet Ovid teaches courses in the art of love. One of his students sets out to test his newfound skill on a woman whose husband has gone to war. 47 x 63 inches. One panel. Paris: Cinedis, 1959. Collection of 33 original borderless single weight still photographs from the 1959 French release (as "Resurrection") of the 1958 West German-Italian-French film. Action sequences, images of smoking women in brothels, and head-shots of starring actors throughout. Numerical annotations in manuscript pencil, and some in ink, on the versos. Based on Tolstoy's last novel, "Resurrection" (1899), a statement on the hypocrisy of the Church. Katjuschka (Bru) is a maid who's dalliance with military commander Nechljudoff (Buchholz) ruins her career, landing her on the street working as a prostitute. Later, she is accused of murder and Nechljudoff is on the jury. 7 x 9.25 inches, printed rectos on French "Gevaert" photo paper. Very Good plus overall, with light curling, and a few brief creases.

Released internationally as "I Kiss the Hand," "Family Killer," and "Kiss My Hand," and re-released in the US as "Sin City Confidential." Brief annotations in manuscript ink on the first page, noting the role of Luca (played by Spiros Focas), and on a few other pages. Rubber-stamped on the title page as an Ultra Film production, however, Aquila Cinematografica would receive final credit. Based on Schiraldi's 1972 titular novel. Stefano Ferrante (Joshua Sinclair), the son of a Mafia boss (Kennedy), is killed by Gaspare Ardizzone (Saxon) because he refused to sell a piece of land.
