N.p.: N.p., 1953. Vintage promotional flyer for the 1953 short film. A short film based on the semantics of communication as outlined in Claude Shannon's 1949 book "The Mathematical Theory of Communication." Legendary modernist designers Charles and Ray Eames produced 125 short films between 1950 and 1982, using the medium as a vehicle for experimentation and education. The best-remembered of these, the 1968 and 1977 "Powers of Ten" films, were selected for preservation in the National Film Library in 1998. 22 x 8.5 inches unfolded, folded five times and measuring 3.75 x 8.5 inches when folded. Very Good, with silverfish damage along one fold and light creasing at the corners.

One of the few feature films directed by George Schaefer, known mostly for his work directing plays and musicals for television, garnering seven Emmy wins and 21 total nominations. Life or death become the stakes as infidelity unfolds in the hospital ward. Red titled wrappers. Title page present, dated June 28, 1968, noted as First Estimating Draft, with credits for screenwriter Daniel Taradash. 157 leaves, with last page of text numbered 162. Beverly Hills, CA: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer [MGM], 1940. Two vintage reference photographs of Spencer Tracy from the 1940 film. A fictionalized biographical depiction of the life of inventor Thomas Edison. Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. The second Edison biopic released by MGM in 1940, "Young Tom Edison," starring Mickey Rooney, was released two months earlier. 8 x 10 inches. Pinholes in the margins, else Near Fine.

Robert Lindner was best known as the author of the 1944 book "Rebel Without A Cause: The Hypnoanalysis of a Criminal Psychopath," basis for Nicholas Ray's 1955 film. Final Script for the short from the 1954 film "Light's Diamond Jubilee." "Light's Diamond Jubilee" was a David O. Selznick television production aired simultaneously on all three of the major networks. The special was mounted to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Thomas Edison's invention of the light bulb that featured original stories and adaptations of stories by famous American writers. Plain salmon colored wrappers. Title page is integral with the first page of text. 12 leaves, mimeograph on green stock. Copy belonging to an uncredited cast or crew member, with their name in manuscript pencil on the title page and their annotations throughout, noting substantive revisions. Loosely based on the famed 1925 Scopes "Monkey" Trial, a thinly veiled means of discussing the then-contemporary McCarthy trials. The play opened at the National Theatre on April 21, 1955, and closed on June 22, 1957, and was revived twice on Broadway-once in 1996, and once in 2007. Basis for four film adaptations, in 1960, 1965, 1988, and 1999. Black titled Hart Stenographic Bureau wrappers. Title page present, undated, with credits for playwrights Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Universal City, CA: Universal Pictures, 1935. Treatment script for the 1936 film. Seen under the early working title "The Shining Spectre." Boris Karloff plays scientist Janos Rukh, who discovers a radioactive meteor in Africa that in turn causes him to become radioactive as well. His colleague Dr. Felix Benet (Bela Lugosi) develops a serum that holds the toxin at bay if taken regularly, though the romantic relationship budding between his wife Diana Rukh (played by Frances Drake) and Ronald Drake (Frank Lawton) causes Rukh to go mad, faking his own death in order to go on a vengeful killing spree, before a final confrontation with his mother halts him. The last of Universal's three Karloff / Lugosi team uos of the mid-1930s. Deer Isle, ME: Cave Paper East, 2010. First Edition. First Edition. One of 80 numbered copies (this being No. 22), SIGNED by both Amanda Degener and Barbara Schubring. The accordion structure unfolds in a progression of shape and image which moves from the natural to the urban. This title was partially funded and made at the Sherman Mill in Deer Isle, Maine. Degener's work "explores the inter-relationship between environment in both the material and spiritual world... (it) draws attention to nature and it evokes feelings towards the environment that we more typically reserve for other humans: love, empathy, compassion, and care." 6.25 x 12 inches. Near Fine in a Very Good plus blue and white envelope printed in a cloud pattern and paper label as issued. Envelope somewhat creased along the edge folds, small corner crease to the label,lightly soiled overall.

New York: Simon and Schuster, 1961. First Edition. First Edition. Robert Rossen's annotated copy of the novel, with his name in manuscript ink on a label affixed on the front board. Rossen would go on to adapt to the novel to the screen and direct in 1964. The film, a psychological drama that was very much an antecedent for the New Hollywood era, starred an array of actors that would go on to great heights: Warren Beatty, Jean Seberg, Peter Fonda, and Kim Hunter. Rossen's paper clips, all along the top page edges, are still in place, and the book's profuse annotations are mainly in the form of text that is bracketed in manuscript pencil at the margins, indicating Rossen's decision process for pulling the content he would need to write the screenplay.
