Description:
1995. Soft cover. Near Fine. Anacleto, Jay. Jay Anacleto: 1995 original ink & pencil pin-up art on illustration paper, for Harrier Comics #2, 1995. 'The Fly [alien]'. 11" x 17", image continues nearly to the edges. Slightly age-toned, else Fine. See scans. Protected within matting board, but not framed or matted. Unsigned, at least on the front. An extraordinarily textured, detailed, labor-intensive piece by Anacleto - a rare, EARLY published piece - executed for Harrier in his so-called "struggling years" in the Philippines, prior to his coming statewide to work for Marvel and DC etc . In the image, an imaginatively-clad space warrior floats weightlessly, among high-tech machinery and near another space-person, apparently outside a starship of some kind. Very detailed; the amount of work that goes into something like this continues to boggle the mind. Big and emphatic and worthy of dominating a room when hung. L305

New York : Little Leather Library Corporation, 1921. Flexible Boards. Very Good. 48mo - over 3 - 4" tall. Very Good. See scans and description. New York: Little Leather Library Corporation, undated but circa 1921. 'At the End of the Passage', by Rudyard Kipling. 48mo - a miniature book, 3 7/8" tall; green and copper flexible leatherette boards, 92 pp. Very Good; about as good as the fragile Little Leather Library series generally survives, with no salient flaws other than the standard deep age-toning to the endpapers; contents are quite bright and un-toned, and the amount of copper-color remaining in the copper-and-green binding is quite goods (these little pieces often started out without much of the copper color). Zoom on scans. This is the Redcroft edition of the Little Leather Library series of promotional miniatures. All such versions from LLL would have been treated as ephemera at the time. Scarce now. Description:
New York: Ace Books, Inc., 1939. Soft cover. Very Good. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. Frank Frazetta. Very Good, plus some. Not far removed from Near Fine. See scans and description. New York: Ace Books, Inc., publication date not given, but 1960's; 1939 (copyright). Ace # 09201, a very early printing of Ace's paperback first edition of Edgar Rice Burroughs' 'Carson of Venus'. 16mo, perfect-bound wraps illustrated at the cover by Frank Frazetta, 192 pp. A very strong Very Good, and not far from Near Fine. Certainly never read. Moderate age-toning to the pages, faint soil at top right, rear cover, and two thin apparent creases at spine, but these are superficial and not pronounced. See scans. Third novel in the Venus Series, and one which in timely fashion satirized the Axis forces then feeling their oats in Europe near the outset of World War II. See all scans. Ships in a new, sturdy, protective box - not a bag. L47

Description:
2004. Soft cover. Fine. Chavez, Mario. 2004: Large original art by peerless pin-up artist Mario Chavez. Title not known to me, but of a well-armed and well-constructed - though, happily, less sturdily clad - blond angel, complete with halo. Fine condition, 20" x 15", mixed media on Crescent heavyweight hot press surface illustration board. Signed bottom right, with date, lower left. See scans; the variable whites of the background are a scan/camera artifacts and are not, of course, present on the piece itself. Big. When framed and matted, this will dominate a room. Better make it the right room. L300
