Respined at some point, but this is not very noticeable. Pages lightly browned throughout, some more so and some pages heavily soiled..

[iv], 82 pages + 32 plates and an additional coloured title page. This is complete as listed in Upcott's Bibliographical account of English topography with a woodcut illustration to the verso of the preface leaf. The plates have browning and spotting and this together with offsetting, affects adjoining pages. Page edges are red and this sometimes stains the edges a little. In circa 1900 half leather binding, the leather is very worn and the spine torn on either side at the head and on one side at the foot. Rather dusty binding. Armorial bookplate of J.S. Hoare to the front pastedown. Front free end paper is creased vertically. The coloured additional title page is dated 1810..

An ex library book with bookplate to the front pastedown and ink stamps to the rear of the title page. Another bookplate to the front pastedown also. Handsomely bound in half leather by Birdsall - worn at the edges and to the boards. Browning throughout. some spotting and staining also. Pages are all edges gilt. This volume formed vol 2 of Bentley's history and directory of Worcestershire as stated on the spine, but was presumably also separately issued. Folding map is very heavily spotted and torn down one of the folds. A few stains to pages. Completely split down the front inner hinge and text block almost detached from the binding. Some pages have 2 images per page, there is also a panoramic view of Tunbridge from the Common which covers 6 pages. Light wear and some marks. Pages lightly browned to the rear. In the original dark blue paper covered boards and a cloth spine. All a bit worn and the gilt lettering is dulled. Edges of the boards are worn. The inner rear cover has a printed paper sheet with the retailer's name - this is browned and soiled..

The folding map is browned and spotted. The engraved title page is very browned and spotted. The folding plate facing page 146 is heavily browned and this affects the adjoining pages also. Some spotting, mainly to page edges, throughout. In the original boards with printed paper pasted over, cloth spine and a printed paper label to the spine. Some chipping to the spine and light wear, but overall in very good condition..

Plates are printed on india paper and it is presumably a large paper copy with pages measuring approximately 26 x 15cm. In modern cloth binding which is rubbed. Page edges are untrimmed and dusty with a few small tears. Pages adjoining the plates are spotted. Plate facing page 112 is rather more spotted.
