Publisher's dark green cloth, octavo, pp. 566. The statistics pages are a bit of a dry read, but there is plentiful good biographical and genealogical information regarding Legislators. Editor Owen (1869-1958) was Director of the state of Alabama's Department of Archives and History, as well as the aunt of actress Tallulah Bankhead. She was inducted into the Alabama Women's Hall of Fame in 1975. Owen has signed the book with her compliments, perhaps in haste, as the inscription is upside down and on the rear free endpaper. Board tips and spine ends of the book are shelf worn. Title lettering has faded away with the decades. Random spots on the binding and on the page edges. Small white sticker on free front endpaper. Internally clean and unmarked.

Hardcover, quarto, pp. ix, 125. Illustrated throughout with cooking themed vignettes by Marty Bibee. Very Good in the publisher's textured brown leatherette with spine and upper board lettering bright gilt. GOOD-only dust jacket a bit weary from pre-mylar days, with shelf rubs along perimeter and a short tear with no loss at top edge of front panel. Jacket now protected from further wear by a new clear archival Brodart sleeve. See WALDROP, Alabama Authors, pp. 10-11.

Approximately 6 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch souvenir mailing packet, circa 1940's, that unfolds accordion-style to reveal a cascade of 9 color illustrated panels, printed on both sides (18 images in addition to the Vestavia and Vulcan Iron Man images on the exterior stiff wrappers). Postmarked 1944. Very Good condition with just light rubbing to edges. Includes two panels of text. Housed safely now in a clear protective Ultra-Pro sleeve.

Edition limited to 2,000 unnumbered copies, octavo, unpaginated. Includes: A Categorized List of Alabama Books and Pamphlets Sought by the Author for his Private Collection. Very Good in the publisher's stapled burnt-orange cardstock wrappers. Ensconced in a clear protective display sleeve with white cardstock backing board.

Edition limited to 250 copies reprinted from Typo-Talk for May, 1931, octavo pamphlet. Pagination: (2) blank, (1) half-title, (1) blank, (1) limitation, [5]-8pp, (2) blank. Previous owner bookplate. Publisher's stapled wrappers, octavo, pp. [8]. Black and white illustrations of dignitaries. Program from the groundbreaking ceremony for construction of a new campus for Howard College (now Samford University), including a two page visionary rendering of the campus by venerable local architectural firm Van Keuren, Davis and Company (now Davis Architects). Among honored guests at the ceremony was Birmingham native, Howard graduate, and film star Gail Patrick [Jackson], then of Hollywood, CA. On the front panel of this program is a signature of Gail Patrick Jackson. While it is most likely the actress's autograph, we have not verified it as such. The program is in Fair condition with random abrasions along perimeter, and rear panel shelf soiling that shows more readily than if the publisher had chosen a darker color than white. The wrappers are separating at the foot of the spine. Stored safely now in a clear display sleeve with white card-stock backing board.

FAIR only dust jacket shows soiling more obviously than if publisher had chosen a different color than white, but jacket ensconced now in a new protective sheet of archival mylar.

Foot of spine with a small spot rubbed through. Spine label worn and scuffed extensively. GOOD and sound withal. This volume was published with a slipcase which is NOT present.

An incomplete copy with only 32 pages of the 36 pages called for. Pages 33-36 are missing. Old vertical crease, as though inserted into a jacket pocket long ago; edges toned; spine rough; bottom page tips bumped. Withal, a good example of a 19th century Civil War-era Philadelphia imprint. Ensconced now in a clear protective display sleeve with white cardstock backing board.

First edition, octavo, pp. ix, 185 plus colophon. Very good in the publisher's brown cloth with a bronze-colored spine lettering. Dust jacket very good.
