Text clean and unmarked, binding solid though lacking in tightness. Unpaginated, but around 100 pp., some black and white photos. The personal journal of an Oregon man sent to Alaska with U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey in the early 1940's. The pages are actual reproductions of his handwritten journal.

Light soiling to the rear cover and a bit of speckling to the top of the text block. Minorly bowed. Text clean and unmarked except for a number on the rear free endpaper. Hinges and joints in good condition, in a solid binding. 166 pp., an odd little book chronicling the adventures of Genevieve Gildersleeve and her life in Oregon, Alaska and BC during the formation of the Gildersleeve Floating Cities. Written like a story, but more of a biography. Also details her involvement in missionary work to China for the Adventists.

A near fine copy with mild shelf wear at the edges and corner tips. Binding is solid and tight, pages and covers are clean. 127 pp., filled with black and white photos of the Chester Place neighborhood where Los Angeles's early elite lived. A volume in the Images of America Series.

Washington DC: U.S. Geological Survey, 1998. Map. Very Good/good. 3 map set in a manila jacket envelope. The maps are folded as issued and appear to not have been used. No markings, pins or tape. The sleeve envelope has wear at the corners and edges for being stored and flipped through in a box. Scale is 1:250,000.

Minor shelf-wear to the edges and spine ends. Binding solid and pages clean. Some bent page corners. Unclipped jacked is good only with several short tears and wear/ruffling to the edges and folds. 325 pp., black and white stills from the author's film of the voyage. True adventure of a tragic fishing trip to the Bering Sea during the Great Depression.

Soiling to the light covers and thumbing to the front edge of the text block. A good copy with corner bumps and a short tear at the base of the front joint. Text is clean and unmarked and binding is solid with no spine creases. 176 pp., black and white photos throughout, indexed.

New York: Abelard-Schuman, 1971. Revised. Hardcover. Very Good/fair. Signed and inscribed by the author on the dedication page, "To Dan Mitchel, who I hear appreciates our Western heritage. All my best wishes. Pearl Baker 8/7/73. This is a gift from the Lee Underwoods." Laid in at front are a signed, typed letter from the author to the inscriptee and a camping flier for the Green River area. A very good copy with bending at the spine tips being the only discernible flaw - clean, tight and unmarked other than the author's signature. The dustjacket is not so good - fair with ruffling, chips and short tears along the edges - much scuffing to the front panel. 224 pp., some black and white photos. In spite of the wear to the jacket - a really unique collector's item, and a solid history of the bandits and robbers that called Baker's property home and hideout in the 1800s.
