This yacht came second in the 2007 Barcelona World Race, setting a then record of 501 nautical miles in 24 hours. In January 2017 Alex Thompson came second in the 2016/17 Vandee Globe solo around the world yacht race in the next generation Hugo Boss GBR 99, setting a British record of 74 days, 19 hours and 35 minutes.
