The is the 1838 Leipzig edition published by Karl Tauchnitz - this unauthorised edition was the first Russian language edition of the New Testament to be published outside Russia. The Russian Bible Society had previously issued Russian language editions between 1822 and 1826, but no other edition was published in Russia until the Synod authorised edition of 1860. John Walpole Willis was a judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, Australia, and resident judge at Melbourne. This volume came from the estate of his son, John William Willis-Bund. The scarce first edition of this collection by William Jones of Nayland, best known for 'An Essay on the First Principles of Natural Philosophy' where he opposed the theories of Sir Isaac Newton.
