A sweet little booklet made by a lady around the 1890's or before. 20 illustrated and hand-written pages, including the oversize card covers. Made using a blank notebook, this artist cut out 13 color chromolithographs (mostly animals, flowers and young girls) and 6 B&W photographic illustrations & a cut-out of "The Beautitudes" (Matt. v. 3-11.) and pasted them to pages & covers. She then wrote Psalms (in ink with numbers included) beneath all but 2 of them. the front cover is a country village scene by moonlight, framed as is a painting. Quite unique,. This particular one is the most well illustrated I have likely ever seen. Absolutely Beautiful, bright, and near fine. The only problems I found with it were a small concussion around the center front foredge going into the pages a bit, photo showing and some page rends around the center of the book. The Center page folding colored illustration has a short tear on the bottom edge and A bit of a chipping along the first fault line, seen in the photographs. The Photograph frames in the rear are clean and empty, ready for your Family Photos! Also the Genealogy pages are all clean and unused. Births, Deaths, Marriage, etc... .

Quite Scarce: Full-leather bound with black spine lables over polished tan calf. Six hardcover books in very good condition. An ex-library set from the Franconia Free Library from the town in northern NH of the same name. This is listed in the library catalog published 1907 (store copy reference), and may have been part of the original 339 books moved from their location at 'Burt's Store' to the Post Office in 1892 as they contain the original library bookplate, not the updated one with the Old Man visage which began when all of the books were moved to the permanent library building (Abbie Greenleaf Library) in 1913, which is still being used today. Very good condition with no other ownership markings. 1833 edition complete in six volumes. States "First American Edition" on the title page. .

NOTE: This an unworn clean example in about Fine condition. Nearly no markings of foreign (pencil/pen, dog-ears, etc...) or natural (foxing, paper age browning, etc...) nature. Aside from 2 tiny spots of less than 1/8", right edge of preface & contents pages and a light bit of type transfer to the front and rear blanks, it remains in as-printed condition. The binding is tight as if unread, spine ends, cover edges & corners are sharp and clean. Red pege edges are clean and bright, though ever so lightly faded on the foredge. A collectors example of the highest quality. Quite uncommon, especially in this condition.. Archival Bagged for Posterity.
