The dust jacket is in Very Good condition with wear to the top and bottom of the spine with minor loss; slight wear to the edges of the dust jacket; and a few marks gathered over time. However, the faults are minor since the large jacket remains attractive and mostly complete without any serious damage or faults. The original brown binding has a tan coloured spine and publisher's illustrated label attached to the front board. The label features two E.H. Shepard illustrations, one of Winnie the Pooh and the other of Christopher Robin. The boards are in Very Good condition with slight knocking to the top and bottom of the spine. The publisher's illustrated label is in Fine condition. The pages are in overall Very Good condition with light browning to the endpapers, which is usual for these books; and cracks to a few of the internal hinges, although all the pages are firmly bound in. Additionally this example of A.A. Milne More Very Young Songs song book has an advertisement loosely inserted for The Christopher Robin Calendar 1929 and When We Were Very Young Notepaper. AAM065

The Edmund Dulac illustration and lettering to the front board is still very bright and this is a very attractive binding for this collectable Edmund Dulac Tanglewood Tales book. Tanglewood Tales has 222 numbered pages with 12 full colour illustrations on glossy stock paper, which is correct as per the list of illustrations to the front of the book. There are attractive illustrated double page front endpapers and rear endpapers designed by Edmund Dulac that matches the design to the front board. There is a “This Book Belongs To” box to the front pastedown that has not been filled in and has been left blank. The pages are in overall Very Good condition with very light age toning and spotting but with the plates on the glossy paper remaining free of even these minor defects. ED042

The G.E. Studdy Bonzo 1949 Annual binding is in Very Good condition with the front board having edge wear, and fading to the original cloth spine but is still attractive for this post-war children’s illustrated book. The publisher’s plain back board has a small doodle but is otherwise clean. G.E. Studdy Bonzo 1949 Annual contents is stunning filled with colour tinted illustrations of Bonzo. The colour frontispiece is entitled Prince Bonzo and His Slave Bango. Opposite the frontispiece is the Illustrated Title Page which features a large illustration of Bonzo eating ice cream. The G.E. Studdy Bonzo 1949 Annual has 20 stories illustrated with numerous sketches by G.E. Studdy. The pages are in overall Good to Very Good condition with the plain white papers having a child’s writing and doodles to the front endpapers and rear endpapers, with a closed tear and a small piece missing from the bottom corner of the rear endpaper, and a closed tear and creasing to the illustration on page 93.

John Bunyan The Pilgrim’s Progress has 379 numbered pages top edge gilt, with an additional engraved Title Page and fourteen engravings by William Strang ARA printed on thick card with a blind stamped border. The pages are in overall Very Good condition with the text pages being very clean; and the etchings being all present as per the list to the front of the book with their tissue guards being very clean, except for the etching opposite page 224 where the etching and tissue guard is detached with foxing to the margins and edge wear.
