Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz Popular Edition accredited to 1908 to the illustrated Copyright Page is for sale. Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz was just the fourth in the series of Wizard of Oz books. The author of Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz is L. Frank Baum and the illustrator is John R. Neill. The front board has a very attractive illustration by John R. Neill with a plain back board and an illustrated spine. The original binding is in Very Good condition with light marks to the front board, wear to the edges of the spine, fading to the spine, and light marks to the back board. There are 238 numbered pages with numerous one-page illustrations by John R. Neill.  The pages are in overall Very Good condition with foxing to the illustrated front endpapers and rear endpapers, foxing to the title page, but with all other pages being very clean. This is a wonderful and collectable vintage Wizard of Oz book. LFB001

This is the rare The Patchwork Girl of Oz first edition first issue by L. Frank Baum published by The Reilly & Britton Co., Chicago, U.S.A.  in 1913. Importantly, this edition of The Patchwork Girl of Oz has the error of the “C” in the word “Chap. Three” overlapping onto the text. The Patchwork Girl of Oz is only the seventh of the Wizard of Oz books, with the first Wizard of Oz book being The Wonderful Wizard of Oz published in 1900. The Patchwork Girl of Oz measures 7.00 x 9.25 inches (approximately), 340 numbered pages with the synopsis for the Wizard of Oz books The Land of Oz, Ozma of Oz, Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz, and The Emerald City of Oz. This early Wizard of Oz book has its original green binding.  The front board has a large illustration of The Patchwork Girl by John R. Neill.  The spine is also decorated by John R. Neill.  The Patchwork Girl binding is in Very Good condition with fading to the spine, wear to the top and bottom of the spine, a red mark to the top right of the front board, light corner knocks and edge wear, and light marks to the back board. Otherwise, an extremely clean and attractive first edition first state binding for this early Wizard of Oz book. The Patchwork Girl of Oz is packed with large one-page and smaller colour illustrations, together with numerous black and white illustrations by John R. Neill. The pages are in overall Very Good condition with only light age toning to the pages. This is a very rare and collectable Wizard of Oz book, being number 7 in the series of Wizard of Oz books by L. Frank Baum.  Wizard of Oz books are one of the most collected of all children’s illustrated books. LFB008

This is the rare first edition first state published by The Reilly & Lee Company, Chicago, U.S.A. in 1922. This edition of Kabumpo in Oz first edition first state has an illustration of Kabumpo the wise elephant to the Half Title Page and has an illustration of the Princess Dorothy on page [299]. The front board has a wonderful colour illustration of the characters from this Wizard of Oz book. The binding is in Good condition being complete but with wear, a small mark to the front board, and fading to the spine. The Wizard of Oz book has 297 numbered pages and the additional illustration of Princess Dorothy after a blank page. The Kabumpo in Oz book has 12 great colour illustrations by John R. Neill and numerous black and white illustrations throughout this wonderful and rare Wizard of Oz book. Condition of the pages is Good with a number of the pages loosely inserted and some of the loose pages are chipped to the edges.  This rare Wizard of Oz book does need restoration, but is worth the work! This wonderful Wizard of Oz book measures 7.00 x 9.25 inches (approximately),318 numbered pages with numerous one-page, double-page and smaller black and white illustrations throughout this wonderful Wizard of Oz book. The original dust jacket is still present but is in poor condition with the front flap still present with the price but detached, and losses particularly to the spine.  But, this is a first state dust jacket with the list of the Wizard of Oz books to the back flap. The Wonder City of Oz original binding is exceptionally clean and highly attractive with the colour illustration to the front board and with an illustrated spine. There is light fading to the top and bottom of the spine, otherwise an exceptional binding for this wartime Wizard of Oz first edition book. The pages have numerous stunning illustrations with illustrated front endpapers and rear endpapers. The page are in Very Good being very clean but with age toning that can be seen when the book is closed to the top edge and fore-edge. LFB007

This wonderful Wizard of Oz book measures 7.00 x 9.25 inches (approximately),312 numbered pages, 12 colour plates and numerous black and white illustrations throughout this stunning Wizard of Oz book. The original green cloth board has a picture label pasted to the front and an illustration to the spine.  The binding is in Very Good condition being complete with wear to the front board, spine and back board, and fading to the spine. The original front endpapers and rear endpapers have a wonderful double page black illustration on a white background.  The Dedication Page for “This Book Belongs To” has an inscription in a neat hand dated 1929.  The Copyright Page has the words: “Copyright 1915 by L Frank Baum All Rights Reserved”. There are 288 numbered pages packed with stunning black and white illustrations and all 12 full page colour plates are present. The pages are in overall Good condition with age toning. LFB005

The Purple Prince of Oz has the original purple binding with colour illustrated label pasted to the front board featuring the Prince doffing his hat whilst riding an elephant. The binding is in Very Good condition being complete with wear, fading and knocks to the top and bottom of the spine, rubbing to the paper label on the front board, a crease to the front board, corner knocks, and knocks to the back board. The boards are complete and are still very attractive. The front endpapers and rear endpapers to the back of the book have characters from the book in black against a white background. There are 281 numbered pages, all edges tinted yellow, and complete with 12 full page colour plates. The pages are in overall Very Good condition with light foxing throughout. LFB003
