Spine carries the imprint of W. Orr & Co., Paternoster Row (which is one of the secondary publishers listed on the title page). Engraved vignette on title page, frontis plate and three additional plates of Scottish lochs; occasional vignettes in the text. Scarce collection of angling tales from the Scottish lake country. Front board reattached, shallow loss to the head of the spine and along the front gutter, significant foxing to the frontis. Good only.

In the scarce dust jacket, tan lettered in red and with tipped on photographs front panel and spine. Jacket is worn about the egdes and has dampstaining along the top edge of the front panel. Withal, a very acceptable collectors copy, uncommon in dust jacket.

We have aso seen the plate listed as a frontispiece.). A tight example, , cover gilt bright, two small chips to the spine strip and rear outer gutter cracking, a narrow smudge to the rear cloth. Small, neat original ink presentation inscription top edge of the title page. Overall very good. A supplement to Forester's classic work, issued later the same year and rather scarcer that the original.
