Set in the time of the Emperor Nero, details the debauchery that the Roman empire had sunk to towards the end of the Empire. It was first published in Polish and then into more than 50 other languages. This work played a part in the author's winning of the Nobel prize for literature in 1905.

LOC #63-8969. Slight tear (cut) on the dust cover. Inscription on the inside, in pen, dated 1963. One of my favorite Salinger books, it tells the story of the Glass family, one of Salinger's famous inventions. that seemed so much like a real family, that I actually wrote a letter to the author .....and received a reply!

In very good condition; this was her last book, published before her death in the same year. There is an inscription in the book, written in ink. Other than that, no interior marks.
