Follows Miyake from the very earliest days of his career, before he had established the Miyake Design Studio. Kitamura draws on more than 40 years of collaborative work with Miyake, to create an encyclopaedic reference to his materials and technical innovations, through the A Piece of Cloth concept, Body Series of the 1980s, Miyake Pleats series, and such practical, everyday designs as Pleats Please pieces. Held her first exhibition at a Ginza art gallery in 1966 since when she became one of the most innovative and stylish shoe designers of the C20th. Unclipped jacket with light edgewear only. Uncommon.

All edges gilt. Limited to 1916 numbered and signed copies, this being number 846. Housed in the grey with gilt titles cloth-bound solander case. To the cover of the case, a shutter pulls back to reveal an individually placed photograph from the Vogue archives. With eight signatures, including those of Patti Boyd, Grace Codringington, Karen Elson and photographer Eric Boman, to the mounted paper. This copy comes with a matching colour grey drawstring Vogue chemise for the book. pp. 448.
