The pages are clean, tight and unmarked. Might be a first edition, no additional edition information given. A classic western.

Signed by the author with brief inscription, inside the front cover. Little wear. Spine has one crease. Glued binding failed at that crease and has been reglued. Pages are clean and unmarked. A rare book.

Red cloth covered boards with black print on cover and spine and two color stamped decoration on the cover. Fabric is darkened over the spine. Wear to the fabric is miimal. There is a spine split after the front endpaper (photo #6) and there is looseness in the stitching at a couple other locations (photo #7). No pages are coming free. Notable is that the illustrator was none other than Charles M. Russell. Also notable is that there are only three illustrations. A rare book.

You might say this book has been ridden hard and put away wet. Its flaws are many, including a cocked spine, a number of stains, and yellowed pages. There is a skinned area on the back cover, and an ink stain on the top page ends at the spine, as visible in photo #3. Photo #4 shows that the ink did not reach the text. I would have put this book out for clearance, but my search did not turn up any other copies being offered, making it rather rare. So, if you need this book to complete your collection, here it is, at a rather reasonable price.

Stated first edition. No dust jacket. Black fabric covered boards with silver print on the spine. The cover shows a bit of damage, possibly from water, on the lower 5 cm of the spine (see photo #4). This water does not appear to have reached the pages. The spine is cocked slightly. The pages are clean, tight and unmarked. The top page edges are stained orange, which goes with the orange endpapers and chapter headings. The binding is solid, with no splits. This book was made into a movie in 1956, starring Elizabeth Taylor, James Dean and Rock Hudson.

First edition. No dust jacket. Little wear. Based on the "withdrawn" stamp inside the front cover, this appears to be a former library book, even though there is no other sign of such. There are a few places on the outside of the cover where stickers or tape appear to have been peeled off, but that's about it. Pages are clean, tight and unmarked. Set in Montana in 1867, with the characters dealing with the aftermath of the civil war.

Signet T2288, $0.75 cover price. A fictionalized account of the conflicts between the Creek nation and the forces of the USA.

With one exception, in very good condition. It looks as if something heavy landed on the outside edge of the cover near the middle. It left a dent in the cover and the first quarter or so of the pages. Nothing that would interfere with reading to book. Otherwise, there is very little wear. If you are familiar with Leonard's crime novels, this reads much the same, but from an earlier time period, and not in Detroit.

Little wear other than spine creases from being read. A collection of eleven short stories, most followed with an author's note. 245 pages, all clean, tight and unmarked.

Book shows very little wear. A minor amount of shelf wear along the lower edge. The spine is a bit concave. The pages are clean, tight and unmarked, other than two small stains on the lower lateral page edges, as shown in photo #3, each smaller than a dime. The stains do not impact the interior of the pages. The dust jacket is price clipped but with little other wear, as it is encased in a mylar cover (inexpertly installed, unfortunately). Mild wear, including a few creases on the spine. 471 pages are clean, tight and intact. The book was made in to a movie, although not one I recall seeing. Stills from the movie are included at the center of the book.

Most are tight, but the first dozen pages are coming loose at the bottom (3-4 cm) due to the spine damage that led to the placement of tape. Handle with care. A rare book.

A two-volume set. No dust jackets, as issued. Set is encased in a rather worn and unadorned slipcase, at least for now. One seam is pretty well broken and some others are hanging on for dear life. The covers show a little fading over the spine, as that was the only part exposed over much of the last 80 years. Blue cloth covered boards show little wear and have no printing. The deckle-edged pages are clean, tight and unmarked, with red-dyed top page edges. The poetry volume begins with Benét's epic poem, John Brown's Body, running about 336 pages. That is followed by over 70 much shorter poems. The second volume contains 23 short stories. These are a likely first edition, as the date is given on the title page.
