Description:
Trade paperback. A guide to reading in the content area. Specific suggestions for every subject in school. Aimed at the secondary school level, this book operates on the idea that every teacher is a reading teacher. Back in the late 1990s, there was a push in this direction as if it was some new idea, but, like everything else in education, it was just an idea whose time had come again. Be forewarned, the educational establishment will rediscover this idea again in about five to ten years. Get this book and be ahead of the curve.Cover shows wear, mainly in rubbing off of the color and a few corner dings. Binding and pages are in great shape. No notes or highlighting.

Description:
Trade paperback. Discoloration to the cover. I found the blue that had rubbed off an earlier cover, it is on the back of this one. Little other sign of wear. Highlighting early on, but then the reader gave up on that. I probably shouldn't say bad stuff about books I am trying to sell, but this book illustrates the wrong-headedness some white authors had about minority cultures in the USA. The thesis is pretty much that anything but white culture was a disadvantage. Consider, perhaps, this book to be an example of the cultural ethos we have to overcome. This attitude is still out there.

You think you might want to become a teacher? This book is where you should start. A lot has changed in teaching over the decades, but the reasons why remain the same. This older edition won't deal with the electronic age issues, but the psychology is still sound. Book is like new inside and shelf worn outside, with minor amounts of rubbing, discoloration and corner-bashing to the cover.
