The ten sections of the book do all seem to be still relevant in today's world, so it is not that far removed from "contemporary".

First edition.This book is not about the playing of chess, but rather the players and their personalities. Cockburn examines the eccentrics of the game from a very Freudian point of view, Looking at the few who are, shall we say, out there, rather than the many who are totally, uninterestingly "normal". Chess players have often not agreed with Cockburn's analysis. I can't speak for non-chess players.The book shows little wear, and has a remainder mark. The jacket is price clipped and has one tear (2 cm) at the upper right front cover.

The story of one woman and her brain damaged child. The author (and mother) was a doctor at the Oregon State Hospital. A little wear at the corners and edges. Pages are clean and tight, sine is uncreased. Seems to be a rare book.

The previous owner put her name on the title page and made a few small edits on pages 9 and 10, but never actually filled out any parts of the workbook. I found two of these available online, both with crazy high prices. I think my price is much more reasonable.
