Recent available information published such as Captain Back's winter quarters of 1833-34. Much of the North pole remains blank as does the northern coast of Alaska which is marked "undiscovered". Nice detail.

Published in the New-York Daily Tribune, Feb. 8, 1862. The New York Daily tribune published 17 maps as a supplement to its daily paper issued on July 30, 1861 (See LC Civil War Maps no. 6.2). These two maps were published 6 months later. Woocut engraving. The Battle at Fort Henry was considered the first significant Union victory during the Civil War under Ulysses S. Grant and the first to use ironclad gunboats.The Peabody-Essex cites this map being "Extracted from New-York semi-weekly tribune, Friday, January 24, 1862"

Sellers & Van Ee 692 An early nautical chart of the Island of St. Peters, off the coast of Newfoundland with textual description. One of the few last French territories in North America, it is commonly known as St. Pierre.

Coloured lithograph housed within printed wrappers. Folds as issued, a couple small separations at folds else fine.

A colourful and large folding map of Boston. Shows the areas of Boston, South Boston, East Boston, Charlestown, Somerville, Cambridge and Roxbury. Detailed street map with public buildings, green areas, wharfs and railway lines shown. Inset map of the Environs of Boston from Marblehead to Norfolk County lower left and the Business area lower right.

Upper and lower margins trimmed to neatline, crude colouring. A good map of the Gulf of St. Lawrence with the Islands of Anticosti, Isle St. Jean, Isle Royale and Newfoundland.
