Exterior shows edge and corner chipping, spotting, and front board has a few wrinkles near the title. Internal binding is good, no signatures or bookplates, no notes or handwriting, no library markings. Unpaginated, and contains 34 detailed designs with each section having several blank pages and some having foldout diagrams. There are also five 19th century banister and railing illustrations (plates) in the front. Title page states 39 plates (34 detailed plates plus the 5 single banister/railing pages). Title page also states this is the second edition. Exterior grades as fair+ and interior grades as VG- (overall grade G).

New York: D. Appleton & Co., 1876. Hardcover. Good-. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. See photos for condition details. Large hardcover, three-quarter bound in leather with brown cloth to boards. Leather shows quite a bit of wear along edges and corners, spine is chipped at the top and has an old glue repair to the top right edge. Internal hinges are cracked at front and rear boards but text pages are secure. Pages are toned due to age, some quite toned, and scattered foxing and spotting is present. Some pages show edge chipping with small tears with the worst being the title page front end page contains a gift inscription. Please note: this is a very large and heavy book that weighs almost 8 1/2 pounds. Non-US sales and priority mail shipping option will require additional postage, media mail should not be affected.

Exterior shows spotting on front and rear boards along with minor handling wear. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. Pages are toned due to age and there is some very light foxing present, though mainly limited to the end pages and pastedowns. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting found. Also included with the book is a letter on Architectural Alumni Society letterhead and dated December 15, 1934. This typed letter was sent with the book and appears to be asking for donations from a fellow alumnus. Leather is signed at the bottom by Mr. Davis, the chairman of the editorial board.

Gray cloth boards with black text on front and spine. The interior show spotting, scuffs and soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear. The interior hinges at the boards are good but there is a section of pages (page 97 through 176) that is offset slightly, this issue can be seen along the exterior page edges. Paper is toned due to age and some minor spotting/foxing is present. There is a small note lightly written in pencil on the front end page and a couple pages show light pencil underlining or calculations in the border. This only affects a few pages. Also included are two flyers, one being in very good condition but the other one is broken into several pieces. There is also a separate sheet with some penciled diagrams and notes written which will also be included.
