New York: Bicknell & Comstock, 1880. 2nd Edition . Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, beveled brown cloth boards stamped in gilt on front. Exterior shows edge and corner chipping, spotting, and front board has a few wrinkles near the title. Internal binding is good, no signatures or bookplates, no notes or handwriting, no library markings. Unpaginated, and contains 34 detailed designs with each section having several blank pages and some having foldout diagrams. There are also five 19th century banister and railing illustrations (plates) in the front. Title page states 39 plates (34 detailed plates plus the 5 single banister/railing pages). Title page also states this is the second edition. Exterior grades as fair+ and interior grades as VG- (overall grade G).

New York: D. Appleton & Co., 1876. Hardcover. Good-. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. See photos for condition details. Large hardcover, three-quarter bound in leather with brown cloth to boards. Leather shows quite a bit of wear along edges and corners, spine is chipped at the top and has an old glue repair to the top right edge. Internal hinges are cracked at front and rear boards but text pages are secure. Pages are toned due to age, some quite toned, and scattered foxing and spotting is present. Some pages show edge chipping with small tears with the worst being the title page front end page contains a gift inscription. Please note: this is a very large and heavy book that weighs almost 8 1/2 pounds. Non-US sales and priority mail shipping option will require additional postage, media mail should not be affected.

Brooklyn, NY: American Manufacturing Co., 1919. Soft cover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Softcover, original publication. Blue card boards with white design on front. Front and rear exterior wraps has a crease that runs through center from top to bottom. Lower outside corner is bumped. Original owner's name on the first end page. No other handwriting noted. No hinge cracks no torn or loose pages. This is the original publication, not a reprint.

Philadelphia, PA: University of Pennsylvania Press, 1934. Hardcover. Very Good. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, gray cloth boards with black cloth to spine. Exterior shows spotting on front and rear boards along with minor handling wear. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. Pages are toned due to age and there is some very light foxing present, though mainly limited to the end pages and pastedowns. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting found. Also included with the book is a letter on Architectural Alumni Society letterhead and dated December 15, 1934. This typed letter was sent with the book and appears to be asking for donations from a fellow alumnus. Leather is signed at the bottom by Mr. Davis, the chairman of the editorial board.

Berlin, Germany: Verlagshandlung Paul Parey, 1920. Hardcover. Good-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with two additional booklets. Gray cloth boards with black text on front and spine. The interior show spotting, scuffs and soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear. The interior hinges at the boards are good but there is a section of pages (page 97 through 176) that is offset slightly, this issue can be seen along the exterior page edges. Paper is toned due to age and some minor spotting/foxing is present. There is a small note lightly written in pencil on the front end page and a couple pages show light pencil underlining or calculations in the border. This only affects a few pages. Also included are two flyers, one being in very good condition but the other one is broken into several pieces. There is also a separate sheet with some penciled diagrams and notes written which will also be included.

Hardcover, thin cloth boards show spotting and soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear. There are a few spots where the cloth is frayed as well. The internal binding is good at the boards but there is a hinge crack in the advertising section in the rear the book page VIII. No signatures or bookplates present, no library markings, no handwriting etc. Pages are toned due to age and there is some scattered spotting and foxing. Text is in German.

Philadelphia, PA: C. H. Wheeler Mfg. Co., 1914. Hardcover. VG+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Thin flexible hardcover, red cloth boards with gilt on front and spine. Rounded corners. Exterior shows minor bumping and overall, boards are clean. Interior binding is good and pages are clean, no hinge issues. Only handwriting found in the book is on the front end page where there is faint evidence of a price once penciled in the corner, no other handwriting noted. This book saw very little use.

Napoli (Naples, Italy): Nella Stamperia di Gio. Francesco Paci, 1724. 2nd Edition . Hardcover. Good. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, original vellum boards with hand written title on spine. Exterior is soiled and quite darkened, front cover has remnants of an old paper label and rear board has what appears to be a bit of handwriting in the top left corner. The internal binding is good in text pages are tight. The front pastedown has a bit of writing in the upper left corner and the first title page also contains a signature, presumably of the original owner. No other handwriting found in the book, no library markings, no bookplates. This volume appears to be six different books, each one bound with its own title page and all bearing the same 1724 date. Washington, DC: Government Printing Office, 1913. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, original green cloth boards decorated in gilt on front and spine. Exterior shows quite a bit of smudge and soiling and there is a library reference number written on the spine. The internal binding is good and text pages are tight. The front pastedown contains an old bookplate stating the book was a gift to the Harrisburg Public Library from the Supervisor of Public Documents. There is also a small price penned in the corner on the opposite page. The rear pastedown is clean with no library pocket but the opposite end page shows a reference number written in the upper inside corner. Text pages show toning due to age as well as the paper reacting with the glossy plates, which is darkened the pages. There are a few smudge marks present on the title page and the first few pages. Hardcover, brown cloth boards three-quarter bound in leather. Leather on spine is freighted edges and to the finish, there is also a deep spot near the center as shown in the photos. Edges and corners show wear. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings found. Pages are tone due to age and there is a bit of pulling near the back section page 70/71. Pages are divided into numerous chapters, each chapter is numbered independent.

Minnesota Landscapes, 1977. 1st Edition . Hardcover. VG+. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. Tall 12.25" hardcover with slipcase. Tan cloth boards with gilt on front and spine. Slipcase and end pages are illustrated with full scale reproductions of the 1908 drawings of the north tower details. The pages are clean and binding is good. No handwriting or bookplates. No remainder mark. But th slipcase shows some handling soiling but nothing severe. Book condition near fine in very good slipcase. See photos.

This book was ordered direct from Hamilton books back in 1988 and packed away for future resale but it never made to our store shelves as it was packed away and forgotten about. Book has been placed in mylar bag for protection and is as crisp and clean as the day it was printed. See photos.

Exterior shows edge and corner bumps as well as mild handling wear. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. Pages are toned due to age but binding is tight. No signatures or bookplates though front and last end page is a round embossed seal which bears the name: M, Kiesewetter, 215 Lenox Road, Brooklyn NY".

Columbia, SC: Bostick & Thornley, Inc., 1959. 4th Printing. Hardcover. VG+/Good+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Elizabeth O'Neill Verner. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. Signed by the author on the front end page and the book also includes an information flyer from the studio of the author which also advertises her expedition of prints and paintings of Charleston. DJ is quite sunned on the front and spine and there is a small tear on the lower left edge of the front. Blue cloth boards underneath show some minor spotting but are otherwise in excellent condition. The internal binding is good and text pages are tight. No other handwriting other than the author's signature, no bookplates, no library markings etc. Both the copyright page in the dust jacket state 4th printing.

Hengelo: N.V. Uitgeversmij "De Esch, 1945. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Fair. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. See photos for condition details. Tall hardcover, tannish gray paper covered boards with gray cloth to spine. This is the original edition with a smaller ship on the front board, not a newer printing. No publication date listed though the index of other ships in the back of the book do not show any years higher than 1944 (est. 1945). Exterior is tanned and spotted with soiling present. Interior front hinge is good and binding is good for text pages but the hinge at the rear board is rather ugly and wide-open. No signatures or bookplates present, no library markings. Pages are tone due to age and foxing/spotting is present. Rear of book contains three illustration inserts, one of them being a very large foldout drawing. One of the smaller illustrations is tattered along the bottom edge.

New York: John Wiley & Sons, 1922. 2nd Edition . Hardcover. VG-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, red cloth boards with gilt on spine. Exterior shows spotting and soiling along with edge and corner bumps. Pages are lightly toned due to age and some spotting and smudge marks are present. Hinges are secure though the hinge at the front board shows a few small openings. The book is stamped "Allegheny County Authority" on both the front and rear pastedowns, all the end pages, and the title page. Text pages are clean no title page has a smudge mark. This is the 2nd edition, revised and enlarged with new chapters on railroad tunneling by J. Vipond Davies.

Exterior shows toning and soiling, there's a bump/divot is present near the lower outside corner that goes from front to back. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. Unpaginated book contains highlights as well as numerous advertisements. This book was part of a collection purchased from the estate of George H. Carter, Public Printer of the United States and head of the United States Government Publishing Office 1921 -1934. The front end page has light penciling in the bottom which reads: Carter, Williams (along with a date). No other handwriting noted. An extremely rare publication, book is been placed in an acid-free archival bag.

Boston, MA: John P. Jewett and Company, 1851. Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, original red cloth boards blind stamped with gilt to spine. Exterior shows quite a bit of edge and corner bumps, corners are worn through and extreme top and bottom edges of spine are missing and torn. Internal binding is good, no hinge cracks. Pages are toned due to age and foxing is present throughout. A couple of pages had the upper corners folded but these have been straightened out. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting found.
