Box with a few worn spots to edges; light general wear; booklet and etchings fine; overall in very good to near fine condition. Artist Pierre Spalaikovitch (1946 - ) was born in Belgrad in a Franco - Serbian family. After working as a scenography assistant, he moved to France in 1971 and later, in 1984, to California, where he worked with various mediums, but specifically mastered the process of etching. First edition; 8 1/2 x 11; pp. [4], 1-149 including text to last page; original pictorial stiff wraps; gray tape spine cover; unusual two identical front covers; small signature to upper corner of front wrap; small closed cut to head of spine; corners slightly creased; few small spots; mimeographed text; profusely illustrated with drawings and diagrams by Ina Herman. Ina and Albert Herman began their work with puppets in the early 70s - first volunteering with youth church groups and 4-H groups and later teaching puppetry at the elementary school level and college level. He began making marionettes and she designed the unique costumes for each of the them. The book contains expansive sections on "Puppetry in the Elementary School," "Patterns and Instructions," and "Puppet Manipulation."

Paris [presumably], 1660. Soft cover. Very Good. First edition (c1660); platemark: 4 3/16" x 7", sheet: approx. 4 1/2" x 7 1/2". Etched signature in lower left corner of plate: AB. Flamen. fe., lower right corner of plate: Cum privil. Regis XII. Minor foxing to lower margin; small light spot to lower right corner of sheet; very good or better. Albert Flamen was a Flemish etcher, engraver, and painter - active in France in the mid-1600s. Most of his works consisted of series of fish, including the current "Brill" one, birds, and mammals. He also created a set of moralizing emblems (1672) - one of his very few dated works. One copy of the etching located at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
