Kansas City, Missouri: Frank Glenn Publishing Co., 1946. 8vo. This is a fine copy of the fascinating story of La Belle Ferronniere a painting attributed to Da Vinci until Joseph Duveen and his cronies decided it was a forgery with the original in the Louvre. Description:
Covici, Friede, Publishers, New York, 1928. This is the third printing of this well-known classic work. It has been nicely rebound in a modernist style, half leather over paper covered boards. The spine is tooled in gilt with red labels. There is no binders stamp or ticket but the binding is of good quality. The leather is a rich purple crushed morocco and the paper covered boards have an abstract angular design. Some slight wear to the extremities and a few small scratches on the paper covered boards but overall a very attractive binding. The text is clean and unmarked. Laid in is an old sales ticket from 1981 from Brick Row Bookshop in San Francisco.

Description:
Birmingham: Deykin & Harrison Ltd., (circa 1920 ). An octavo bound in the original cloth-backed redpaper over stiff card, pictorial cover. This very scarce trade catalogue of 191 pages, plus index, represents the work of one of the most prestigious manufacturers of domestic metalware in Britain. The firm was established in 1781. This catalogue represents early twentieth century wares shown at Venetian Works, Jennens Row, Dale End, Birmingham. The city of Birmingham, well-known as one of the most important centers of metalwork throughout English history, contributed a wealth of artisans to the Arts and Crafts period. The "Puritan Pewter" line, with it's finely hammered finish, was one of the firm's most successful offerings, well-illustrated in this catalogue. There is some overall soiling and wear to the binding, but it remains a bright, sound copy of an elusive trade catalogue.

Description:
London: Phillip Allan & Co. Ltd., (1928). A quarto, 109 pages, bound in original tan cloth with dark red spine and paper labels. Aside from a trace of wear to the corners and a worn spine label, this is a fine copy of the First Edition. Two extra paper labels are tipped-in so the worn one on the spine can be easily replaced. Literary quotes from many poets and authors face photographic images of nude children depicting the text. The marriage of text and photographs captures the playful wonder and innocence of youth in a manner that would not be socially acceptable today. Boards slightly bowed else an exceptional copy of a modern classic.
