    Gambier, OH: Kenyon Review, 2011. 1st edition, limited (1/25) lettered, signed, with special star insignia. The first printing of this poem, designed by Joumana Khatib as the letterpress edition. Printed on Firenze paper at the Igloo Press, using Arno Pro and Steelfish fonts. As the colophon states, an edition of 150 copies were planned. However, due to production difficulties, only approximately one third of that number survived. The lettered copies were reserved exclusively for the author, of which only a few received the special star insignia with the author's signature in gold or silver. This offering is among the most scarce of any Goldbarth printing to date. Printed on recto and verso with double fold flaps. Fine, 'as new' condition.

Included in the 53 are the deluxe edition numbered 1 - 13 and the standard edition numbered 14 - 53. Pages have been printed digitally on both sides of Zerkall book paper with archival inks. This book is based on the unique hand painted original with several notable differences including the size of the book, the background painting, font, text, and endpages. The following text: "Ground. Invoke divinity. Focus thought. Repeat a rhyme. Make magic." is added to the last page of this edition. Also, if unfolded, the reverse side reveals hidden words. It is bound in grey paper wrappers with white hand lettered title to spine and silver star to front panel. The end pages are sheer Japanese unryu "cloud dragon paper" with silver and gold flecks. The printed interior is bound accordion style with the words "Star Spell" printed in light blue across the twilight sky background of all pages. The familiar rhyme in the foreground reads: "Star light / star bright / first star / I see tonight / I wish I may / I wish I might / Have the wish / I wish tonight." A charming book about the secret and ordinary ways of magic by well known calligrapher, Cari Ferraro. In addition to her collection of unique artists' books and small limited editions, she has written several books detailing her calligraphy techniques. [16 pages.].

A copy of this broadside was selected and acquired by the Smithsonian Museum of American History for their contemporary letterpress collection in the Graphic Arts Department.
