The text is illustrated with eight pages of black-and-white photography between pages 256 and 257. Plain text card cover with white and red coloured titles to the front panel and yellow and white coloured titles to the backstrip. Creasing to the book corners and rubbing to the book edges and book panels. There is a crease that runs three quarters the length of the front panel (from the lower edge, and there are creases to the backstrip. Age timing of the textblock edges and of the internal text. Previous owner's name to the top right-hand corner of the half title page. In 1974, Karen Silkwood was killed when her car was forced off the road. She was on the way to meet David Burnham, a reporter on the New York Times. She told the reporter that she had documentary proof about the haphazard safety standards and of production values of where she worked. Normally this would not be a big exposé; but for one detail – Karen Silkwood worked for the Kerr McGee Nuclear Company. As the blurb on the back panel states "So begins the dramatic and inspiring story of council would and her single-minded fight against the incompetence and greed of an entire industry."
