An undated but relatively recent reprinting of the one-volume edition of this work which was first published in 1943. Yellow glazed boards, black titles to front board and spine illustration to front board, 500 pages. This is a facsimile reprint of the 1943 edition, complete with illustrations etc, although some of those from photographs have lost contrast in this reprinting. However those in the original were by no means flawless and the producers of this reprint have done reasonably well by the original. Condition notes: There is sunning to the spine and a little bumping to the boards, but the book is otherwise in excellent condition.

Paginated title page etc to iv, Report (v-ix), Minutes of Proceedings at each Sitting of the Committee (x-xxiv), Minutes of Evidence (1-150), Appendix (151-156).The questions covered by the report and its investigations included the acquisition of land for generating stations, especially the possibility of compulsory purchase, whether or not permission should be given for the development of electrical supplies across local authorities and using high voltages, and if so to consider questions of construction and location. It therefore, arguably, marks the beginning of the modern electrical supply system in Great Britain. Condition notes: The leather is very scuffed indeed, and the back board rubbed and stained, from water or chemical splashes. There is a stubborn chalk mark on the back board. Internally, the pages are clean and sound, although there is some pencil emphasising and underlining, especially to the first two pages of the Report.

    Factory and Workshop Acts, 1901 to 1911. Memorandum By the Electrical Inspector of Factories on the Electricity Regulations.

    London: HMSO, 1916. 2nd. Hardback. Very good/No jacket. 472 4to. This is a privately bound photocopy of the 84 page memorandum. Photocopies of the original covers (very indistinct) are laid in. There are copious notes in pencil in the margins and to the verso of the pages. There are also earlier notes which were present on the original document and so have been photocopied. A note referring to these notes has been written in pencil on the front free and paper, dated 1930, initialled GSR. A later owner has added a note identifying GSR as G.Scott-Ram. A copy of Form 401 Dated February 1941 (Electricity Regulations: Instructions to Inspectors) has been laid in; this is an eight-page stapled document, not a photocopy. An official notice (Circular No. 400) announcing the death of Gilbert Scott Ram has also been laid in. A photocopy of a letter discussing the Memorandum itself, (the original, not this photocopy) describes it as probably the only remaining copy of the second edition of the Memo on the Electrical Regulations 2nd Edition. Condition notes: A much annotated photocopy in a professional binding, grey green cloth-covered boards, no titles to boards or spine. There is one bump to the boards, otherwise this is externally immaculate.
