Octavo, 732 pages plus useful 147 page glossarial index bound in at the back. Ornamental spine in the Art Nouveau style with gilt twining stem and flowers. Title and publisher labels lettered in gilt. Marbled endleaves, matching the paper used on the binding. Pictorial frontispiece. Aside from minor soiling, this is a superb example of the Book Arts that flourished at the turn of the twentieth century. This edition of Chaucer's work is edited from numerous manuscripts by the Rev. Walter W. Skeat, noted scholar and professor of Anglo-Saxon at Cambridge University. Prized for their beauty and representation of literary achievement, these bindings have become difficult to find in fine condition.

An octavo, 307 pp., bound in cobalt blue cloth with an extaordinary Art Nouveau pictorial cover of a songbird in the branches of a flowering tree against a bright gilt sky. Titles on cover and spine also gilt. This sentimental novel was written by Charles Server from the play by Edgar Selwyn. The back cover and spine have some light spotting noticed only when the book is turned into certain lights. A whisper of wear at the extremites, else this is a brilliant copy of an exceptional publisher's binding of the Arts and Crafts period of design.
