He designed in almost every area of decorative art, specialising in harmoniously integrated interiors which were internationally admired. He was a pioneer of the distinctive 'Glasgow Style'.Moving to London in 1897 Walton won acclaim as a designer of photographic exhibitions and shops for the new Kodak company. He then turned architect, and built some remarkable houses and a stunning houseboat.
