The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good+ condition. To the verso, there is some tape reinforcement to the upper and lower edges. A small chip to the lower front panel. Description:
An unknown printing published by Faber and Faber - no date. In as far as I can determine this title was only published with its distinctive grey front cover, with red and yellow lettering, in hardback format. I can find no other paperback copy for sale in this format. This, combined with the fact that this volume has no publication data, such as date, no title page and does not include the plates of the published volume, leads me to conclude this is probably a proof copy. This copy came with a number of other volumes on WWI from the library of Norman Hancock who also wrote on his experiences of the First World War, notably in A Martial Medley (1931) along with David Jones, Eric Partridge and several others. This connection with Jones further makes me think it likely this is a proof copy sent by the publishers to Hancock. The BOOK is wraps format and is in Very Good+ condition. A generally very clean copy throughout. Some light creasing to the front cover. The spine at some point has had clear tape… Read More
