Corners a bit worn, edges lightly so, covers lightly soiled, else internally a sharp, bright copy. Rare.
First editon. Vasnetsov's most famous illustrated work, published on May 26 1899 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Pushkin's birth. Vasntsov's chromolithographs are truly enchanting – bursting with glorious color and capturing the power of Pushkin's lush tale. Kilgour 897.

An clean, tight copy with edges lightly rubbed, spine a little sunned, half-inch spot at bottom right of front cover, title and its tissue guard foxed, about half the other tissue guards lightly foxed. Nonetheless, an attractive copy with its beautiful pictorial stamping still bright. First US edition. The second of Rackham's lavish illustrated editions, featuring 50 spectacular color plates. This story, from Barrie's 1902 novel The Little White Bird, tells of the infant Peter Pan. This is the first illustrated edition of this story.

Collodi's beloved tale of the mischievous wooden puppet who dreamed of becoming a real boy, illustrated by famed Italian satirical cartoonist Benito Jacovitti. This was the second of three times that the comic artist would illustrate this Italian classic, but this edition was the first to highlight his idiosyncratic comic style that would characterize his work in such comics as "Cocco Bill" and "Zorry Kid."
