[Los Angeles]: [none], 1982. First Edition. Unbound. Very Good. Seven drugstore color prints measuring 4" x 5.75" depicting men dressed as female flight attendants marching under the "L.A. Hairport" drag contingent in the 1982 Christopher Street West gay pride parade in Los Angeles. Very Good with trivial edge wear, one corner crease, some age discoloration. The men are wearing blue skirts and white shirts with red scarfs, and in one image are holding a banner reading "The Flight Crew at / L.A. Hairport / Soaring Into a New Gay Dawning." There are three group shots and the remaining images focus on two men in large wigs posing together, separate and kissing.

Bound in contemporary three quarters leather over marbled boards with original plain stiff front and rear wrappers bound in. Very Good with hairline crack to bottom end of front joint, wear to extremities, and rubbing. Bookplate removed at front pastedown. Contents worn and soiled with light chipping to wrappers. Several hinges slightly over opened, binding tender. A novella satirizing hierarchy in Victorian culture, while serving as a lesson in geometry.

Signed by the author on the front free end paper, inscribed to former owner in "Glen Canyon 1981". Very Good with light rubbing at tips, small indent to spine near bottom, light lean to spine, previous owner book plate to front paste down. In a Very Good dust jacket with publisher's price of $3.50 intact, light rubbing, light fading to spine panel, light chipping at edges and two repairs made from the verso. The author's first published book, which after an initial publication of 5,000 copies he immediately wanted to disown. It has never been reprinted as per Abbey's request, and signed copies are extremely scarce.

A nice copy of The Monkey Wrench Gang author's third novel.

Very Good+, faint curl to upper corner of front wrap, faint smudging to Nichols' signature, small stain to rear wrap. Two short pieces by two distinguished Western writers on the wonders of mountain lions, published to benefit their preservation by the Sierra Club at a time when large predators like mountain lions, bears, and wolves faced an uphill battle in American popular culture.
