The less common Canadian edition of this mostly Baseball-oriented catalogue, having 27 pages of Baseball equipment and uniforms, with the rest of the 44 page catalogue filled with Golf, Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Handball, Swim Suits and Volleyball equipment. Saddle stapled wraps, small 8vo (7.75 inches tall), pp. 44, index, illustrated throughout. Covers with some wear, soil and a 1/2 inch split at lower spine fold, some rust to staples and a small abrasion near the "O" of "ONT.", internal text is clean and unmarked. This copy with the front cover rubber stamp "Sold By / A. Reeves / Enderby, B.C." "The A.J. Reach Company, also known as A.J. Green cloth over boards, title and decorations stamped in red and green onto upper board and spine, 16mo, (6-3/8 inches tall), all edges stained green, pp. ix, 253, 9 ads, (7) ads, "With Forty-One Illustrations" and "Copyright 1900 by Henry Altemus Company" on title page. Volume with just a touch of edge wear to corners and final text leaf with a 1cm closed tear at head. DJ with a light waterstain to front panel near upper corner at fore-edge and tiny nicks to fold corners. No. 55 in Altemus' Young People's Library, in a very nice jacket. Printed in brown ink onto buff colored paper, 9-1/2 x 5-5/16 inches wide, two horizontal folds, some brief notes in pencil near vignettes, and an unrelated personal letter referencing the graduation of a Lillian Wald student dated 1924, written in pencil onto verso. n.b. We have other Lillian Wald related items, please inquire. Performances by the artists included pieces by Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel.

Pulitzer Prize winning poet Richard Eberhart's copy of Agee's first book (with his penciled signature on the ffep and occasional light pencil notation to poems within). A circa 1940 meeting notice, "A Public Meeting on Social Credit (The Alberta Provincial System)" etc., printed in black ink onto paper measuring 12 x 9 inches wide; somewhat toned, else a fine, unused copy. Date assumed from paper stock and comments printed within text. The populated locality of Harmattan is north west of Calgary. An uncommon and ephemeral survivor of an announcement poster that was intended to be pasted up on buildings, poles and in shop windows.

Donald, B.C.: W. Alexander, Jewller, 1890. Very Good. A circa 1890's hand-painted "Paris Green" promotional picture frame from a jewelry store operating in Donald, BC. A newspaper ad placed by Alexander's jewelry store can be found on p. 3 of the Saturday, June 23, 1894 newspaper "The Golden Era" from Golden, B.C. The front of the frame has "Compliments Of W. Alexander. Jeweller. Donald. B.C." printed in black ink using a "Fancy Style" of penmanship that was popular in the day. Frame is made from some type of early opaque plastic material, similar to celluloid film, and measures 8-1/8 inches tall x 6-3/8 inches wide to edges of decoratively trimmed borders with a spray of flowers painted in the upper right corner. Two of the four original brass studs which attach the heavy card backing are missing - likely extracted to enable removal of the original photo - and are not present. This wartime dispatch was originally sent from General H.Q. of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force by Allenby to the Secretary of State for War in London, prior to it's first publication here by The London Gazette. It was then republished in Pirie-Gordon's "A Brief Record of the Advance of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force" (Cairo, 1919) along with his other wartime dispatches and with "Sherifian Co-operation in September" and "The Story of the Arab Movement", which were also compiled from Lawrence's uncredited notes originally made for the Arab Bureau. Power Department Bulletin printed in black and red onto glossy coated paper, 4to (10-1/2 inches tall), pp. 4, illustrated with a photo reproduction of the engines on the front cover, text in center and test results on back cover. Bulletin with a vertical fold line from mailing, faint doodle on front cover, fold line tears and soil. An unusual piece of subway ephemera.

Loyal Orange Association of British America, 1900. Unbound Single Leaf. Near Fine. A circa 1900's [?] single leaf letter of introduction for a traveling member of the Royal Scarlet, having their fraternal symbols printed in blue with the relevant text overprinted in red onto lightweight vellum paper, 8-3/16 x 10-1/4 inches wide. Letter is unused, very slightly rolled with a few light creases. The Orange Order is a fraternal organization formed in Ireland in 1795 in honor of William of Orange's 1690 victory at the Battle of Boyne. The Royal Scarlet Chapter is the highest degree of the Orange Order.

Lowe in California where passengers would transfer from the tramway to the funicular car for the steep ride up Mt. Lowe. Gelatin silver print with white borders, 8 inches tall x 5 inches wide, with "Great Cable Incline, Mt. Lowe, Cal. / 482 / Best & Co." written in negative along bottom edge. Print w. creases, chips [corners mostly gone] and small edge tears, verso with some toning evident at upper left corner, an institutional rubber stamp, ink name and numbers. A famous California tourist destination, with this c. 1895 image showing both Lowe's tramway and his loaded funicular car. Mr. Lowe lost his railway to receivership in 1899, so with his name still being clearly visible on the tram in the photo, this photo predates his railway passing into Huntington's hands via the Pacific Electric Railway.
