No dust jacket, as originally issued.

Binding is sturdy and tight. Pages are completely unmarked, no underlining, no highlights, no notes, no previous owner signature. Many illustrations throughout the text.

Ejnar Munksgaard, Ltd., 1956. Hardcover. Good. All maps and pages present, cracked binding that exposes the binding at the front and the back covers, bumped and rubbed corners, approximately 100 pages of underlining, mostly in pencil. Beautiful book regardless.

Mild age-tanning to edges of text block, with a tiny bit of foxing to top edge. Exterior shows moderate shelf wear to corners of covers and spine, in some cases down to boards. Dust jacket included in protective plastic sleeve: shows mild age tanning/toning/fading, with moderate shelf wear and tearing/chipping to some edges and corners.

Original 1818 text, rebound in new hardcover binding. Text is unmarked, but shows moderate tanning and foxing from age, with accompanying mild humidity rippling and wear. Readability is unaffected. P. 193 shows moderate soiling with mild creasing and a few small tears to its outermost edge. Binding is tight. Front cover shows some mild shelf rubbing with a small, white discoloration near its bottom edge.
