This particular leaf is fascinating: half of it appears in the published edition (the last few lines of p. 53 and the first half of p. 54) and the other half features a long paragraph crossed out by the author and never published: it is entirely legible. 8vo. Beautifully bound in three-quarters morocco and marbled boards. Original wraps and backstrip preserved. Textblock slightly toned, but paper still supple. Manuscript leaf fine and bright. Almost perfect condition.

1954. A sheet of wove paper (10 x 12 cm), inscribed and SIGNED by actor Alan Ladd (in 1954). From the exemplary collection of maître d'hôtel Maurice Guérin, who worked from the 1930s to the 1960s at top restaurants in the South of France and aboard the S.S. Normandie. Adhesive remains and a small piece missing from a corner (not affecting Ladd's inscription, barely), otherwise in good condition.
