Snugly bound and very neat. Early American work on temperance, quite scarce in the 1st edition, with only 3 copies identified in Library collections searched by Worldcat. The Independent Order of Rechabites founded originally in England as a Christian fraternal organization concerned with temperance. The American chapter was founded in 1842 and reached nearly 1 million in membership at the height of its strength in the late 19th century. Handsomely preserved copy and scarce thus.
