A Fine copy of the United Air Lines System Map showing part the contiguous United States on one side and the rest thereof on the opposite side, and showing Hawaii in offset blocks. The System Map, which, when fully opened, measures approximately 20.75 inches X 21 inches is in Fine condition with a few shallow uncreased bends and presented in beautiful colors. [The map is dated 1957 and does not show Alaska which did not become one of the United Sates until January 3, 1959. While Hawaii did not join the Union until August 21 of the same year, it was controlled by the United States prior to that date and was a popular travel destination.] A visually interesting piece of ephemera issued by what was then the largest of America's Air Lines. 29.75 X 21

(An extra spine label is tipped in near the rear of each volume. Each volume's leading board corners are rubbed and the spine ends to each volume are pushed. The leaves of each volume remain rather clean and host numerous illustrations and Volume I contains an informative Introduction, images of which can be found at our proprietary listing as can images of all four hinges.
