Both front and rear hinges cracked but holding (weakly). Covers show some edge wear. A very nice reading copy.

Writing (Name and date), in Vietnamese, on title page, extensive marginal notes, neatly in pencil, throughout text, apparently in reference to the translating of these stories. Binding tight, covers clean. In glassine dust jacket. Book condition Good+ (because of the marginal notations) in VG DJ. Book is dated 1957 on bottom of front cover, but 1958 on title page.

Trade paper, gray stiff paper covers with black lettering and an illustration of an eagle on front cover, 8vo, 215 pp. Signed and inscribed by the author, and dated July 1993, on dedication page. Author was a columnist for the Winona Post for many years. No marks in book, binding tight. Covers show minor soiling bottom of spine. Book condition VG+.

Leipsic: Karl Baedeker, 1894. Second Revised Edition. HB. Red cloth, gilt lettering on front cover and spine, 12mo, 375 pp. With 8 maps, 15 plans and a panorama of Athens. Large color folding map of Greece at rear. Much writing, in pencil, front and rear endpapers and title pages by previous owner, Dan Fellows Platt (1873-1937) noted archeologist and art collector. Nearly all the writing is in Greek, relating to his visit to Greece. Covers show heavy edge wear, clear tape over backstrip. Book condition Fair-Good.

Volume I "Vbi explanatur historie Adami, Iacobi, Isaaci, & Danielis, in quibus Christus conceptus.." Volume II "complectens vitam Moysis. Triplici indice. Materiarum pro concionibus. Locorum Sacrae Scripturae. Rerum notabilium illustratus." Stamp top of title page, otherwise a clean, unmarked copy, binding tight. Vellum in very nice condition with just light soiling, no tears or wear. Rare and important work by de Baeza (1582-1647), a Spanish Jesuit theologian. Book condition VG+.

The rear panel text consists of a 13-line excerpt from the book, a 4-line review from author Ernest B. Furgurson, a 3-line review from Kirkus Reviews, and a notice of nomination for the Stephen Crane Award for First Fiction. Clean, unmarked book but for faint publisher's glue residue at top of rear endpapers. In nice dust jacket that shows just a hint of shelf wear. Debut novel by Bahr. Book condition NF in NF DJ.

Blue cloth, gilt lettering on front cover and spine, decorative gilt stamped front cover, 12mo, vii, 271 pp. Frontis portrait of the author and three full page plates in text. Signed and inscribed by the author "To N. W. Taylor Esq. with the compliments of the author. Geo. W. Bailey, St. L Feb. 1893." Bailey, of the 6th Missouri infantry, was a First Lieut. and ADC in the 2nd Division, 15th Army Corp. He was captured by Confederates near Atlanta. This is an account of his escape and return to Union lines. Dedicated to Mrs. Carrie E. Hambrick, a southern woman who assisted in his escape. Important description of the rural south during the Civil War. Very minor foxing, otherwise a clean copy, binding tight. Covers show minor edge wear, some fraying top of spine. Book condition VG.

Oslo: Gyldendal Norsk Forlag, 1958. HB. Brown simulated leather, gilt lettering on spine, 8vo, 259 pp., patterned endpapers. Autobiography of the famed Norwegian-American pilot and explorer who was the first person to fly over the South Pole. He later served as a Colonel in the U.S. Air Force in World War II. Bookplate (possible x-library) on front pastedown, no other marks in book, binding tight. Old sticker top of spine, slight soiling to covers. This is the Norwegian edition, also published in the United States as "Come North With Me". Book condition VG.

Fort Leavenworth, Kansas: U. S. Cavalry Association, 1911. HB. Red cloth, gilt lettering on front cover, 8vo, 539 pp. including extensive index, patterned endpapers. Fourth completely revised edition, with numerous plates in the text. English translation from the German by First Lieutenant Walter Krueger. Balck was a member of the Prussian Imperial General Staff. This is Volume I, dealing with infantry tactics on the eve of World War I. He also wrote a volume on cavalry tactics. Krueger (1881-1967) rose to command of the U.S. Sixth Army in the South West Pacific during World War II. With the bookplate of Charles Rees Lloyd, Colonel 10th Field Artillery, 3rd Division, U. S. Army during World War I. Book shows considerable underlining of text, in pencil, hinges reinforced, binding solid. Covers show minor edge wear, top corner of text block and corners scuffed, spine sunned. Book condition Good+.
