Frank Baum (author of the Wizard of Oz, the Land of Oz, etc) Hardcover Second or Later Edition Reilly & Lee $1.50 cover price, circa late 1930's, probably released with the film the Wizard of Oz, although the copyright date states 1909. A superb copy, not often found in this condition with rare dust jacket! The book itself is incredibly clean, very clean boards, very bold lettering on spine and bold embossed illustration on the board. Tiniest hint of a blemish to the edge of front board, about 1/2", unnoticeable. Interior very clean and bright. The Dust jacket is just about as good shape as could be asked for. Unique copy! Two books bound together: Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe (2nd edition) and A Key to Uncle Tom's Cabin (first edition). Much less than the price of a first edition alone of Uncle Tom's Cabin which typically runs $3500+. Uncle Tom's Cabin or: Life Among the Lowly by Harriet Beecher Stowe Two Hundred and Thirty-Third Thousand Boston: John P. Jewett and Company, and Cleveland, Ohio, 1853. (probably a second edition; the first edition from the same publisher released 1852.) Entered according to act of Congress, 1851. Preface, Contents. Main text in double columns page 5-166. Two pages of adds. bound with: A Key to Uncle Tom's Cabin Facts and Documents upon which the story is founded. Our Trip Around the World by Elsie Lincoln Benedict and Ralph Paine Benedict Hardcover Printed and Bound by the Roycofters in East Auroa New York 1926. The Roycofters were a one of the first small presses in the United States founded as part of the Arts and Crafts Movement and on the heels of the Kelmscott Press in Britain. Fine- in Velvet-like cloth over pictorial boards in Very Good+ Dustjacket. Almost unheard of to find Roycofters in original dust jacket since mostly made of tissue-thin paper. This copy still has its original dust jacket, essentially complete and more or less intact. Boasted as being the biggest book on travel ever printed (up until that point!) A tremendous find for Roycrofters collectors. NOTE: The picture is the actual item for sale. (The picture is NOT a stock photo.)

First UK trade copy of the first Shannara book! Probably much more rare than the US edition. NOT ex-lib and NOT bc. The Sword of Shannara (first book of the Shannara series) by Terry Brooks Hardcover First Edition - First Printing Random House US/Raven UK 1977 £6.95 cover price on the dust jacket. States "First Edition" on the copyright page underneath the number-line beginning with "2". (Note: This was Random House's convention for identifying first printings until circa 2000: "First Edition" with the printing number-line beginning with "2". Their printing number-lines never began with "1" until 2000. If the number-line begins with "2" but the indication of "First Edition" is lacking then it's a second printing.) I notice some near fine copies are priced at $1000+. NOTE on edition: It appears that the book itself was printed by Random House in the US and Raven UK simply added their own dust jacket with a £6.95 cover price for distribution in the UK. The dust jacket front art is identical to the US edition ... Read more

Nova Express by William S. Burroughs (author of Naked Lunch and Junkie) Hardcover First Edition - First Printing Grove Press 1964. $5.00 cover price. Fine- in Near Fine+ Dust Jacket. A really nice copy, the book itself is near perfect, clean pages, clean boards, sharp corners, except some ghost marks on the ffep. The dust jacket is for the most part quite clean and bright, NO tearing, some slight toning here and there, which is typical of this edition. Still a beautiful copy, not often found as such. William Burroughs was a member of a small group of Beat Literature writers which included Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg. They would influence the so-called Beatniks and eventually the Hippies. NOTE: All modern books with dust jackets come with dust jacket covers. ALSO: The pictures are of the actual item for sale. (The pictures are NOT stock photos.)
