Housed in a beige cloth-covered, leather entry, slip-case, lined with the same decorative paper as used on the boards. Small binders ticket inside the slip case. A fine example of this deluxe edition. A magnificent, well illustrated and thorough catalogue, issued to coincide with the great Raj exhibition that ran in London from October 1990 to March 1991

Publisher's red board with gilt lettering to the front board and spine. Top edge stained vibrant red. A book-plate to the front free end-paper and slight softening to the head and tail f the still still overall a VG+ copy (with NO inscriptions but with an attractive book-plate to the front paste-down). In the rare dust wrapper which is un-priced (as this copy was sourced from the British Commonwealth thus being an "export" copy. The D/W is identical to that originally issued in the UK apart from the price of 7/6 net to the spine. The D/W has benefitted from some highly skilled archival restoration by a skilled paper conservator including replacement of the publisher's name (THE BODLEY HEAD) at the base of the spine. Black and white illustrations by Raymond Briggs who also designed the dustwrapper. A small area of fading at the base of the spine matching wear in the dustwrapper otherwise VG indeed with NO INSCRIPTIONS. In the RARE first issue dustwrapper priced 15s net to the inside flap (as called for). The VG dustwrapper has several, minor tape repairs to the verso with a few nicks and a tiny chip at the head of the spine. Uncommon. (Spotting to the end-papers and neat birthday gift inscription to the front paste-down. A very nice copy in slightly worn VG D/W with a V-shaped closed tear to the back panel. Cam's 1st Book. Tells the story of a lamb who could sing, who had great success at the theatre in London?until she caught a cold - and her singing career came to an end. A war-time production which does not seem to last the test of time particularly well in our experience. Quite an attractive copy.

Edge worn and with an old light crease down the middle, images not affected. Size is 21 cm by 28 cm approx. I suspect that many copies of this scarce piece of Cambridge University ephemera will have been broken up for the photographic plates. London, 1933. First Edition. (London: The Institute of the Motor Trade 1933). First UK Edition. A softcover. This is a very scarce Land Speed Record motoring book (booklet). It is the address given by Sir Malcolm Campbell to the London Centre of the "Institute of The Motor Trade" on the career of "Blue Bird". This is the first and only complete edition. Originally published in "The Garage and Motor Agent" journal over two issues, Nov 25th and Dec 2nd 1933 and then reprinted complete in this 28 page booklet It is unlikely that many were published and certainly very few exist today. COPAC have none listed. There are are none for sale and no recent auction records of any sold. It is in very good condition, minimal signs of use and age, vertical soft crease to front cover. Rare.
