A note from the author has been glued to the ffep: "(indecipherable name) I'd love to hear news of you and your dear nance with love Caroline Snedeker" (the name on the paste down is Nancy). It has pictorial end papers and 351, bright, clear pages illustrated with black & white plates and a color frontispiece bound in red cloth covered boards with blue titles and drawings on the spine and front.
