An original antique sepia photograph titled "British Labour Delegation to Russia. April 1917", identifying the men as "Wm. Sanders, W. Thorne, E.Bowe (Interpreter), J. O'Grady". Photographer / location not credited. Overall size 30.4cm x 24.8cm (photograph size 14cm x 19.5cm). Mounted on card. Not framed. The card mount has some corner bumping. The photograph has small surface abrasions (mainly to lower edge and upper right corer). The mount has some dusting and edge wear.
A related photograph exists depicting the Labour Delegation (possibly August 1917, though again including J. O'Grady and W. Thorne) among the Russian soldiers who had refused to fire upon the people at the onset of the Russian Revolution and is preserved among the papers of Ron Todd in the Warwick Digital Collection.

UK 1st Edition / 1st Printing. Handsigned by the author to the title page. With further inscription in his hand to facing blank page "David, with my best wishes-my first effort! If nothing else, a reminder of a marvellous day's shooting in Cumberland. December 1987". No other inscriptions. Very Good condition. In Very Good original dustwrapper, which is not price-clipped (Published price £4.95).The first novel by Lord Denham of Weston Underwood. (Born in 1927, educated at Eton and King's College, Cambridge. In 1948 he succeeded his father as second Baron, and in 1961 started his political career as a Government Junior Whip in the House of Lords. William Dickes (1815-1892) was a licensee of the Baxter colour process, and the present set of reward cards were printed by him for distribution at Sunday Schools and the like. Some of the images also appeared in 1868-9 as frontispieces in Jarrold & Sons series with titles beginning A Book for the Household. The 12 plates are titled; Temptation, The Kind Servant, The Country Walk, Fresh Water-cress-e-s!, I'm Hungry and it's very cold, The Sailor's Return, The Wedding Day, Evening - Father Coming Home, Saturday Night, Sunday Morning, Monday Morning, Industry

Inscribed in ink to the title page "To Peter Best Wishes Leo Dickinson". No other writing or inscriptions. Very Good+ clean, tight condition, in Very Good+ original dustwrapper which is not price-clipped (Published price £14.99). Extensively illustrated in colour.
