Las Vegas and other towns along the Arrowhead Highway (US 91) and US 89 are located. Reverse contains a brief description of Las Vegas and Boulder Dam that is illustrated with black and white views of the area. "Visit all the Scenic Wonders of the Great Southwest. Las Vegas is the center of this charmed circle of unequaled mountain and desert splendor. Broken type on p.9. If not the most widely read book on California, this title certainly would rank high on any list. Dana sailed up and down the California coast in 1835 and 1836. Work touting the Golden State that was produced for the Alaska Yukon Pacific Exhibition that was held in Seattle in 1909. Printed by W.W. Shannon, Superintendent State Printing. Similar publications under same title, were issued by the Louisiana purchase exposition commission, 1904, and by the Lewis and Clark exposition commission, 1905. Illustrated throughout with black and white views.

Illustrated trade catalogue with thirteen plates in color showing suggested interior colors and design ideas. "In submitting, on the following pages, illustrated color ideas for the average home, I have in mind the women all over the country whose wish is to make their homes more interesting and attractive through the selection of colors which will enhance their livable qualities. Simple combinations of colors are preferred by most people, so these illustrations are not complicated." - p.[3].

Francis Darter (1881-1968) was Excommunicated for advocating plural marriage, Darter was never fully supportive of the Council of Friends, and later parted ways with Joseph Musser.

Darter's reprint of 'Proclamation of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints To all the Kings of the World, To the President of the United States...' (1845). The 'Proclamation' declares the kingdom of God has been established on earth and is led by the LDS Church. Francis Darter (1881-1968) was Excommunicated for advocating plural marriage, Darter was never fully supportive of the Council of Friends, and later parted ways with Joseph Musser.

Publications of the California State History, No. 1. The author of this work was the historian of the Sacramento Society of California Pioneers. He assembled his material from newspaper reports and official state records. This work begins with 'the first political mass meeting in California,' San Francisco, October 25, 1849, and ends with the state convention of 1892. Number 7 of the Rare Americana Series. Includes an introduction by Charles L. Camp and nine color illustrations by Arvilla Parker. In 1841, Cheyenne Dawson of Austin, Texas was a part of the famed Bidwell-Bartleson Party, along with his brother-in-law and some "neighbor boys." The trip was organized in Sherman, Texas in 1849, and aimed a Southern Route. After crossing the Colorado Desert and visiting Los Angeles, the prospectors reached the Mariposa diggings in November. Dawson worked the dry diggings and eventually got into freighting and tells how his fellow pioneer Charles Weber of Stockton tried to coax him to ranching. In the spring of 1851, he began his return trip to Texas. Kurutz 171b.

Alonzo Delano, a native of Auburn, New York, resided in Ottawa, Illinois, at the time of the Marshall gold discovery. he left on April 5, 1849, with a company of fifty men, crossed the Missouri River at St. Joseph, and entered California via the Lassen Trail. He then made it to the Feather River on September 9 with $4 in his pocket. While providing what has become one of the great classics of the Overland Trail, Delano also wrote in detail about his adventures in the mines and the general conditions of newly arrived emigrants, miners, and Indians. Lovely copy of Dickens first novel that is a sequence of loosely related adventures written for Chapman & Hall and serialized in monthly installments from March of 1836 until November 1837.

Coshocton, OH: A.E. Dickerson, Original Stereographs, 1890. Stereoview. Albumen photograph [8.5 cm x 15 cm] on a gray Dickerson mount [9 cm x 18 cm] Minor rubbing to corners of mount. Nice contrasts. Nice bird's-eye view of upper Bingham and into the Canyon. A.E. Dickerson had a studio in Coshocton, Ohio and visited Utah, Idaho and Colorado in the early 1890s. "Bingham is a little like the gambler. Crowded together in their gulch without bringing-up or ear-washing, the people of the camp have evolved into a community, though it took a long time and there were a lot of graves in the local Boot Hill before the transformation came about. Maybe the copper sulphide in the soil destroyed the germs of evil in those old rowdies as it destroyed the typhus germs in the garbage-laden creek. Or maybe the camp simply grew up. At any rate Bingham gets along better with the rest of the state now." - Wallace Stegner 'Mormon Country' p.268.
