Description:
Boston, Massachusetts: Good Luck Publishing, 1884. First Edition. Hardcover. Good. Evidently, the entire run of this short-lived publication of reprinted literature as well as some original local material. 12 original issues bound in one volume. Quarto, 11" tall, 378 pages, illustrated in black and white throughout, three-quarter black leather over black cloth. A good volume overall with moderate exterior shelf wear, fore-corner tips through to boards, spine leather rubbed and chipped; front endpaper is missing and a child had decorated the remaining endpapers with some 19th-century form of 'stickers'; internal binding solid, with paper moderately yellowed and scattered foxing throughout and a previous owner's name embossed on first page. Still a quite readable family magazine of the period. Scarce.

Description:
Henry Shepard & Co: Boston, 1877. First Edition, early printing. Hardcover. Good/Without dust jacket if issued. Despite difficult condition, this is a scarce title and priced accordingly. Octavo, 7 2/3” tall, 822 pages, gilt titles on green cloth. A good minus, generally clean, sturdy original hard cover edition with moderate shelf wear with light exterior soiling, fore-corner tips through to boards, top and bottom cloth edge of back strip frayed, fore-edges darkened, binding solid, but paper moderately yellowed with some scattered foxing. Given the period, unlikely dust jacket was issued. This may be a first edition without being the first printing. Priority was unestablished.

Milan, Italy: Fratelli Treves; Milano, 1902. First Edition. Paperback. Very Good. Internally a very good, but an ex-library copy with markings to the spine and endpapers. Quarto, 9 1/2" tall, letterpress printed in two-color, 290 pages gilt titles on decorative vellum with brown silk ties. A good, flexible cover, relatively clean, with moderate shelf wear overall BUT the spine of binding has been covered in green library tape with spine label affixed and rubbing to the spine; hinges and binding solid but spine is canted, cream white hand-made paper paper is lightly yellowed and remains supple. This would be an excellent copy for binding restoration due to the quality of the interior.
