Stain continues through about one half of the contents, though not affecting text or any other images. Contents are otherwise clean.

Volume remains tight and is otherwise clean.

Folding map at frontispiece, plus four tables/maps and ten natural history plates. Vol. III in Captain William Dampier's adventure series stands alone, though a continuation of this work was published six years later. This is a particularly lovely, sound, and complete copy of the scarce first edition. Later full calf binding in contemporary style. Covers show very light rubbing, mostly on lower edges. Map is bright and crisp with strong water mark. Two older inked names are seen at the top of the title page, one dated 1877. Mostly light foxing, though a little heavier on the first six leaves. Otherwise, contents remain crisp and clean.

Boston: Cummings and Hillard, 1818. 108 pages. Lacking the map originally issued with this title. Quarter leather with drab paper over boards. Most of leather spine cover is missing. Top board is detached. Cover were previously wrapped in cellophane holding the covers in place, and remain in this state. Edges are uncut, and somewhat rough. There are some marginal tears, though all text remains complete. Light foxing and a little offsetting. . First Edition. Quarter Leather. Fair/No Dust Jacket.
