It is rubbed at all edges. There is a short split at the bottom of the back strip, the top of the front wrap is discolored and author's names are written on the table of contents. All pages are bright and clear with occasional foxing. It contains reviews of (which are much more than reviews) books and articles including Western History [NOTE: this means Kentucky] (Clark), De Tocqueville's Democracy in America (E. Everett NOTE: the former owner attributes this article to 'The Governor', Edward Everett was governor of MA in 1836 and has been noted as a contributor in past copies of the magazine, but it could have been Samuel Armstrong governor in 1935), Mexico and Texas (Ballard), among other articles. Everett), among other articles. It has black titles on the front and contains pages 1 - 268, plus advertisements. No title page, information taken from front wrap. Based on others copies we bought as a lot, this book probably belonged to Henry Harris Tuckerman a prominent citizen of the period.

Philadelphia: H. F. Anners, 1852. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. H. Egleton, H. Hawkins, et al.. This copy is clean, tight, square and, but for a extremely faint, pencil name on a front end paper, unmarked. It is bound in what we believe is brown leather. The entire surface is elaborately blind stamped giving it a lacquered appearance. It is rubbed, lightly at the corners, more so at the ends of the spine where there is a short split at the top, front. The titles on the back strip are gold. It has pale yellow end papers and is illustrated with steel engravings of paintings. It contains "Justine" by Wilson, "The Lover's Leap" by Allen, "On the New Year" by Strickland, among many other works. It has 268 pages, gilt edged all around. It has a bit if a roll.

The four parts are in one volume with varying printers per part. Part I printed in 1730, II & III in 1731, IV in 1732. They have 68, 80, 84, 80, bright, clear minimally toned pages gilt edged all around. It has a full leather binding which is rubbed through at some edges. The spine has five raised bands with gilt designs in the panes, however the title is missing and one panel has a small hole. The front hinge is split to small effect on the text block. The end papers are toned with a few pencil notes.
