Large octavo (250 x 190 mm), illustrated wrappers, stapled, 8 pp, illustrated; includes full programme for Backhaus' fifth recital at the Melbourne Auditorium on 12 November 1926 (Schubert, Chopin, Beethoven and Liszt), and brief programmes for the sixth (all Chopin) and seventh recitals, with advertisements for Melbourne firms such as A.P. Sykes, the Aeolian Company, Allan & Co. and Sutton's; a very good copy. Scarce programme from the great German concert pianist Wilhelm Backhaus' first Australian tour in 1926. Appears unrecorded in Australian collections.
