An unframed silver print mounted on backing board showing Steinmetz (the Father of Electrical Engineering and the founder of the GE Research lab) and Thomas Edison examining some insulators on a laboratory table at GE in 1922. While this image was first published in 1922, this may be a later printing of the image. Photograph. On board that is 12 3/8 inches by 8 3/4 inches. Photographic paper is 8 x 10, and actual image on the photographic paper is 7 1/4 x 8 1/2 inches. With extensive remarquing in the image for publication, most of the laboratory in the back has been airbrushed out. These are scarce survivals having been tossed when the new issue arrived. This catalog replaced the previous one available in the 1930-31 timeframe. Catalog notes "Distributed and Guarateed by" Graybar Electric, a major electrical supply house still active today.

Salem: Printed at the Observer Office, 1847. First Edition. Cloth. Very Good. First Edition. 116 pages. 4to. Publisher's original cloth. This copy has the bookplate of William Goddard Weld, and an inscription on the back of the frontispiece: "Wm G. Weld with the regards of Chas. E. Endicott" (perhaps a relative of the author). Minor foxing throughout, archival tissue strengthening to the gutter where the frontispiece is inserted. Crinkling to the flyleaf where the bookplate is affixed. Cloth. A fairly scarce work, with only 15 examples in OCLC/Worldcat as of this listing. William Goddard Weld was a major philanthropist, donating significant collections to both the Museum of Fine Art in Boston as well as the Peabody Essex Museum in Essex Massachusetts. Given his interest in travel, history (he collected early Japanese military history) it is not surprising that he sought out an early history of the area.

Taken in front of Winchester Hall at Yale, part of the Sheffield School of Engineering. The building is no longer standing, although we have included a printout of the building as it once appeared. Lots of great instruments with 4 on tripods, surveying sticks, axe, model of a bridge span, etc. in the photograph with the students.
