John Eadie (1810-1876) was a Scottish theologian; in 1843 he was appointed professor of biblical literature and hermeneutics in the Divinity Hall of the United Presbyterian body, and held this appointment until he died. This work was originally published in 1851, then revised and published in a second edition in 1861. This Zondervan edition (first published in 1955) is an unabridged reprint edition of the 1883 edition published by T & T Clark in Edinburg and edited by Rev W Young.
