Octavo, 7 3/4" tall, 297 pages + 4 black and white illustrations, marbled endpapers, gilt titles on decorative red leather. A fair hardcover first edition overall with leather back strip over spine detached and partly missing, front cover detached at hinge, leather rubbed at all corners. Internally very good with binding tight, paper clean and lightly yellowed excepting last two pages which are badly torn but all text present. Good reading copy only because of the hinge break or terrific candidate for rebinding because of the paper quality.
