New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1937. 251 pp. Very good condition in jacket. A reprint with great graphics on the dust jacket. This is a novel about a woman who falls in love with a Treasury Department agent who is on the trail of a counterfeiting agent.

Good with illustrated paper covered boards. Light rubbing and wear. A very nicely designed Christmas book.

Glasgow Scotland: United Publishing Co, 1888. 271, [1] pp. good condition. Looks like the interior front hinge may have been cracking and a former owner glued the front fly leaf edge to the hinge to strengthen it. Evans was born in England and he and his brother were both reformers with Evans joining the New Lebanon Community where he became Elder of the North Family. This New Lebanon family was the most reform minded community of Shakers. They were vegetarians, anti-vivisection, pro- rights for women and minorities, pro-labor and more. Evans even travelled back to England to try to convert people and bring them back to the community. Richmond, 576.

London: James Burns, 1871. vii [1[, 120 pp. Good with minor chips to the wraps and a small inventory number written in on the corner of the title page. The number indicates it was once used at Canterbury. Elder Frederick Evans was born in England and joined the Shakers at New Lebanon as a young man. He was a social reformer and worked to keep Shaker beliefs relevant in a changing world. He traveled to back to England on missionary trips.

East Canterbury: Shakers, 1907. 16 pp. Good condition. The first edition of this often-republished introduction to Shaker life and beliefs. Richmond 684, Ericson 3307.

Atlanta: Evans Printing Co, 1902. 102 pages and in good condition. With a 3 pages letter from Mrs. E.M. Evans dated Atlanta, GA Aug 18th, 1909, to a Miss Hayden. Mrs. Evans was working as Travelers Aid in the Union Depot and talks about how she is busy.
