First edition; 6 1/2 x 4; pp. 3-18, [1]; off-white wraps, printed in black; mild age-toning to margins and minor wear to edges; very good condition.In 1950, the possibility of another world war frightened Europe and the World Peace Council was established, partly in response to that fear. A World Peace Congress was scheduled for November of that year, to take place in Sheffield, England, but was later shifted to Warsaw, Poland. The two speeches in the current booklet were given by author and co-founder of the Union of Soviet Writers Aleksandr Fadeev (1901 - 1956) and journalist, historian and revolutionary Ilia Ehrenburg (1891 - 1967). Some of the subjects they touched on included the role of the United Nations Organization, the then present horrors in Korea, the confidence in the future, etc.

(ca 1905); 2 x 4; off-white stock, printed in black; very minor wear - in near fine or better condition.Uncommon, and even more so unused, the label was intended to be used to "Collect Lot Shipment On ____ Pieces, Billed Via ______" with separate lines for "Way-bill No. _______" and "Date." It also stated: "When parts of this shipment are on separate Way-bills, agent at desitnation will adjust charges to proper ammount on the number of pieces rec'd."

"A Star in the Family" chronicled the rise and fall of comedian Bart Goldwine, who was the subject of a biography-in-progress.

It was created by the Ukrainian-Canadian author and educator Bohdan Fedchuk (1907 - 1992), known for his children's books of rebuses, puzzles, and brainteasers.

Advertising broadside; 11 x 8 1/2; off-white stock, printed in black; faint, old fold lines; age-toning mostly to verso; very good condition.An interesting piece of local California history, the broadside advertised the auction sale of the machinery and equipment of a San Francisco metalworking business, by a small auction house, possibly based in Oakland, of which very little information could be found. The sheet listed many of the items to be sold, including Electric Grinding Machine, Excelsior Gas House Hot Air Furnaces, Work Bench, and so on.

First edition; 8 3/4 x 5 1/2; pp. [1], 2-4; removed; small perforations along spine from being previously stitched. else very minor wear; very good to near fine condition.After being granted a patent for a "revolving gun" in 1836 and going through ups and downs and triumphs and failures, Samuel Colt (1814 - 1862) built his first factory - Colt's Patent Fire-Arms Manufacturing Company in Hartford, CT. He had not collected fees for his patent in the early years and in 1852, two other gun manufacturers - the Springfield Arms Company and the Massachusetts Arms Company - infringed on it. Colt promptly turned around, sued the two, and won, but embroyled in lawsuits among other things, he had trouble extending his patent. Albert Flamen was a Flemish etcher, engraver, and painter - active in France in the mid-1600s. Most of his works consisted of series of fish, including the current "Brill" one, birds, and mammals. He also created a set of moralizing emblems (1672) - one of his very few dated works. One copy of the etching located at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

First edition; oblong 4 x 5 1/2; pp. [1], 2-16; pictorial wraps in gilt, green, red, and black; illustrated with drawings and photographic images; minor wear to edges; in very good to near fine condition.Arguably the best-known line of Asian food products in the US - LaChoy - despite starting out by offering Chinese cuisine, it was actually founded by a Korean immigrant - Ilhan New - and his friend Wallace Smith. LaChoy Food was incorporated in 1922 in Detroit. The business gained tremendous popularity and grew quickly and in 1937 the current cookbook was published. The latter would go through many editions in the following years and the company would claim to have distributed 8 million copies of it.

They also had a Canadian subsidiary called The Pratt Food Company of Canada, Ltd. The business was well established and operated well into the mid-20th century. The book contained exhaustive information on raising, feeding, breeding for exhibition, and diseases of poultry, as well as detailed descriptions of various breeds.

Wadsworth, OH: The Ohio Match Company, 1968. Very good. A complete set, unused, 50 matchbooks in a card stock box - minor age-toning and wear - in near fine condition; pictorial wrapper very fragile, with tears and splits, but no significant loss.Issued as an advertisement for various Hunt's products, each colorful matchbook in the set contained a recipe with said products to verso, including Oven Stew Italiano, Little Loaves, and Hotdog Surprise. It also advertised a fondue cookbook offer. Hunt's was founded in 1888 in Sebastopol, California, as the Hunt Bros. Fruit Packing Co., by brothers Joseph and William Hunt. Initially manufacturing canned fruits, vegetables, and soup - by the 1930s, after a change in ownership, the company would shift focus to canned tomato products and particularly - tomato paste.
